Seasons 1-8 is when shippers submit bids for two shipments through uShip using a reverse auction model. Bids are generally made with specific remarks on the potential risks and costs in addition to the motivations and skills. If the time limit expires for an auction the job is awarded to the bidder who has the lowest bid. At the discretion of the customer however, it might be awarded to bidders with an average rating of higher than past customers. To break any ties, feedback ratings are used. In season 9, the shippers collect their loads from an intermediary in shipping, and bidding is not shown.Winners take their cargo to the port and try to deliver it in good condition by the client's or receiver's deadline. When the loads are delivered, feedback ratings are provided by clients. The total revenue for each shipper and costs (fuel and labor as well as late-delivery penalties), is displayed on-screen at the conclusion. are subtracted from the bid to calculate the overall revenue or loss. Sometimes, a shipper may arrange to transport one or more additional loads in the same journey, with the extra money figured into their total. Sometimes, the shipper will not be able to finish an assignment due to concerns regarding the weight of the load and road safety. On occasion, one shipper may enlist the help of another person to finish an assignment. The shippers then decide between themselves what to do with the proceeds. Seasons 1-8 are filled with humorous criticisms from the other shippers.
